CDI Strategies - Volume 19, Issue 40

by Karla Kozak

The 2026 ACDIS conference returns to the Windy City next April 20–23 for three and a half days of insightful education and exclusive networking opportunities. Registration is now open, and we invite you to empower yourself and your team!

If you need a little more information before you’re ready to take the plunge, I encourage you to take a look at the incredible agenda the ACDIS Events Committee spent nearly two months putting together.

The 2026 conference will have five tracks, including returning favorites:

  • Clinical and Coding, which takes a deep dive into specific diagnoses and coding requirements
  • Leadership and Collaboration, which allows you the opportunity to hone your leadership skills as well as hear how different groups are partnering to further CDI efforts
  • Quality and Denials Management, which looks at the changing regulatory landscape as well as key denials mitigation initiatives

To keep up with industry trends and CDI’s ever-expanding reach, we’re also introducing two new tracks:

  • Technology and Analytics, which explores the use of artificial intelligence and other technology as well as how data and analytics can inform best practices
  • Pediatrics and Neonatology, which focuses on CDI guidance unique to the youngest members of the patient population

Sessions range from an introductory to advanced level and cover the following:

  • Clinical conditions with common CDI opportunities, such as cancer, skin failure, pediatric sepsis and shock, and stroke
  • Professional development topics, such as acting as a mentor and conquering burnout
  • How to implement CDI programs in pediatrics, neonatology, obstetrics, and ambulatory care
  • Quality topics, including regulatory updates, PSIs, and mortality
  • Collaboration opportunities with coding, data analysts, physicians, advanced practice providers,
  • Denials management efforts, including leveraging data, utilizing AI, engaging in audits, and performing clinical validation

There really is something for everyone, so please do take a moment to look! And let us know which sessions you’re most looking forward to—April will be here before we know it!
