Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Share expertise, network with fellow leaders on the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council

A few weeks ago, I shared a bit about the ACDIS CDI Leadership Council, its history, and member benefits. In that article, I gave readers a little forewarning that the application period would be opening soon; I’m thrilled to say that day has arrived! Eligible leaders are encouraged to apply for the 2025/2026 term, which will run September 2025 through August 2026, by August 31, 2025, by clicking here.
Formally, the Leadership Council exists to connect forward-thinking CDI leaders through personalized insight-sharing and networking experiences that forge valuable relationships, advance strategic priorities, and illuminate game-changing trends.
But what does all that mean practically? Here’s a breakdown of the opportunities Council members are afforded:
- Six virtual panel discussion meetings per term highlighting recent survey data and innovative programs
- Monthly advice and exclusive opportunities in the CDI Leadership Insider (CLI) eNewsletter
- Ongoing opportunities to connect with fellow Council members via an exclusive discussion group on the ACDIS Forum
- Special discounts on ACDIS events and products on a rolling basis
- Annual opportunities to participate in a Council-exclusive mentorship program as either a mentor or mentee
- Opportunities to earn ACDIS CCDS/CCDS-O CEUs by attending and presenting at meetings and/or writing for the CLI
- Chance to join (or lead!) member-led leadership book clubs (NEW for 2025/2026 term!)
- Four virtual panel discussion meetings specifically focused on physician advisor concerns (NEW for 2025/2026 term!)
If all that sounds appealing to you, I would encourage you to apply for this upcoming term! The only barrier of entry is that you meet certain eligibility criteria, which are laid out in detail here. To put it simply, however, if you’re a current CDI leader with supervisory responsibilities (over staff, educational, or departmental decisions) employed by a healthcare provider organization, and you’re able to meet the participation requirements over the term, you’re likely eligible. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to:
- CDI VP/executive director
- CDI director
- CDI manager
- CDI supervisor
- CDI lead
- CDI auditor/educator
- Physician advisor
- Medical director of CDI
Council members do not need to be members of ACDIS or pay a fee, but you do need to meet those eligibility and participation requirements.
We encourage you to apply and join this wonderful group of CDI leaders! The application period closes August 31, after which applicants will be notified of membership appointments in early September.
