ACDIS update: ACDIS committee applications open until February 2

CDI Strategies - Volume 18, Issue 4

Are there changes you’d like to see for ACDIS? Perhaps the CDI community? Or how about the profession itself? One of the main ways that this association makes a difference is through its committees’ efforts to provide the CDI community with guidance, support, and resources to succeed. If you are interested in pioneering the changes needed for the future of CDI, there’s no better way to make your footprint on a national level than to join an ACDIS committee!

From now until February 2, ACDIS is calling for volunteer applications for the following committees:

  • The ACDIS Advisory Board: Provides collective leadership, expertise, and written guidance for the ACDIS membership and the broader CDI profession through individual work on specific projects (e.g., joint authorship of white papers and position papers), group discussion, and oversight and review of the work of sub-committees and conference presenters. Note: this year, the board has openings for one individual from a physician background, one individual from an HIM background, and five individuals from a clinical background.
  • The Chapter Advisory Committee: Its members serve as liaisons between local chapter leaders and ACDIS national administration by participating on chapter leadership conference calls, promoting best practice, and providing guidance to leaders across the country.
  • Resource Library Committee: Reviews materials donated to the ACDIS community for publication in the Resource Library for accuracy, compliance, relevance, and effectiveness.

These groups are made up of eight to 12 ACDIS members from all professional and personal backgrounds, geographic locations, and organization types. For more information on the scope of work and current members of each committee, visit this page here.

Ready to get more involved? To apply for any of these committees, click here and fill out the requested information by the end of the day on Friday, February 2, 2024.
