Note from the Associate Editorial Director: Be a part of something bigger on an ACDIS committee

CDI Strategies - Volume 20, Issue 21

by Linnea Archibald

Did you know that around 100 ACDIS members serve as volunteers across our seven committees and the Advisory Board? If you’ve ever enjoyed a Quarterly Member Call, read one of the member-submitted items in the Resource Library, participated in CDI Week materials, or learned from the speakers at the ACDIS conference or another event, you’ve seen the work of these groups firsthand.

ACDIS simply would not be the association it is without the work of our many dedicated volunteers. As ACDIS Director Rebecca Hendren likes to remind us, we are the Association of CDI Specialists, meaning that everything we do is made for and by our members.

If you’re a part of this community and the work it does, we’d love to have you participate on one of our committees for the coming term. Now through May 31, we are calling for volunteer applications for the following groups:

  • Events Committee: This committee is responsible for planning ACDIS in-person and virtual events in collaboration with the ACDIS administration to meet the education and networking needs of CDI professionals.
  • Furthering Education Committee: This committee is responsible for maintaining and updating the ACDIS CDI Scholarship Program and planning for the annual CDI Week activities.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Committee: This committee is responsible for facilitating social responsibility via the promotion of a positive workplace environment for all CDI professionals irrespective of social identities, educational backgrounds, and mental statuses.
  • Physician Advisor Committee: This committee is responsible for providing the collective expertise and written guidance for physician advisors in CDI through individual feedback, group discussion, as well as ACDIS recommendations and guidance.

If you are interested in learning more about the scope and work of each committee, click here. We want your expertise and guidance, so if you’re interested, make sure to submit your application by Sunday, May 31, 2026.

I sincerely hope you’ll consider applying for one of these groups. It’s a privilege to build this association with you.
